2010 St. Mark's Photography Contest Winners Announced

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Augusta, Maine is pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Photography Contest. More than three dozen photographs were entered by close to a dozen photographers from across Maine. The winning photographs will be reproduced on greeting cards that will be sold by the church as a fundraiser. Photographs were judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and/or unique character of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. After much deliberation, the winners were announced by the Jury on March 3. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church congratulates all the photographers and thanks them for their submissions.

1st Place: William Haley
Photographer William A. Haley of Hallowell is a Maine native and has been capturing life through a lens since he was a little boy.   He is a member of the Capital Area Camera Club in Augusta and the Kennebec Valley Art Association in Hallowell.  His work can be viewed at the Camera Club website, Josiah Smith Antiques and Joyce’s Restaurant in Hallowell and the Senator Inn in Augusta.

2nd Place
: Gary Mann

She has had a solo show of her work exhibited at Hallowell and Wine, Hallowell, exhibited with the Maine Traditional Film Photographers at White Flour Catering Co., Hallowell and with the Capital Area Camera Club at Joyce’s Restaurant, Hallowell and the Senator in Augusta.
